The bay is located north of Fljótavík Hornstrandir peninsula in the region Vestfirðir in the far northwest of Iceland.
The bay is located east of Straumnes, is 3.5 km wide and extends two kilometers into the country. In the bay there are no permanently occupied houses more. It's not about roads or trails to reach. To the west of this bay is Aðalvík.
