Float chamber

A float chamber is a device which is used in combination with a float needle valve for regulating a fluid intake. The system resembles that of a float valve, with the difference that here the level is only used as an auxiliary variable for the control.

In general, the float chamber is known for use in gasifiers, but is used, for example, in oil heaters older design.

It contains the following components or functions:

  • Float chamber as a container of the controlled fluid
  • Hydration
  • Control element: float needle valve
  • Measuring element: float, needle valve controls the
  • Fluid collection ( eg carburetor main jet in the nozzle )

The inflowing fluid is throttled by the needle valve. The opening width of the needle valve is determined by the liquid level in the float chamber by the float with rising status closes the needle valve and opens with decreasing level.
