Floirac (Gironde)

Floirac is a French town with 16,522 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Gironde department in the region of Aquitaine. The city is located in the district of Bordeaux and is the capital (French: chef- lieu) of its own canton.

Floirac located in the eastern suburb of Bordeaux east of the Garonne. The municipality belongs to the community association Communauté Urbaine de Bordeaux and is accessible by bus lines of the TBC and is the terminus of tram line "A".

The municipal area is the Observatory of Bordeaux.
