Floral Games
Els Joes Florals ( Catalan for flowers games ) was a poet of the romantic rivalry of Catalonia, whose roots are in the Catalan-Aragonese court of the Middle Ages. The third winner then a silver violet was presented and the second a golden rose. The winner, however, was a real rose that faded while his poem lived on.
1859 these games were resumed at the initiative of Antoni de Bofarull and Víctor Balaguer, to search for the lost in the centuries of Castilian domination Catalan identity. The aim was to Renaixença, the rebirth of Catalan culture. As a result, compacted and the romantic writers recited amplified in Catalan.
