Florence Charterhouse

The Certosa di Galluzzo San Lorenzo (also Certosa di Firenze) is a former Carthusian monastery. The Charterhouse is located on Monte Acuto, about five miles south of the downtown area of ​​Florence, in the suburb of Galluzzo, near the confluence of the Ema and Greve. It was built by order of banker and statesman Niccolò Acciaiuoli from 1341. In 1956 it became part of the Cistercian Order.
