Florestano Vancini

Florestano Vancini ( born August 24, 1926 in Ferrara, † September 18, 2008 in Rome ) was an Italian film director.

Awards

His debut album from 1960 La Lunga Notte del '43 ( The Long Night of '43 ) with Belinda Lee and Gabriele Ferzetti was honored at the Venice Film Festival with the award for best first film.

At the International Film Festival in Berlin in 1965, he won the FIPRESCI Prize with Le Stagioni del nostro amore ( " The stations of our love ").

His film Il Delitto Matteotti ( " The Assassination of Matteotti " ) with Franco Nero as Matteotti and Mario Adorf as Mussolini on the assassination of the socialist deputy Giacomo Matteotti and anti-fascists in 1924 was awarded a prize at the International Film Festival Moscow 1973.
