Florian Gallenberger

Florian Gall Berger (born 1972 in Munich) is a German film director, screenwriter and film producer. He won in 2001 with the completion of his studies, film, Quiero Ser, an Oscar in the short film category.

Life

After graduating from the Feodor Lynen -Gymnasium in Planegg Gallen Berger studied philosophy, psychology, and Russian, before in 1992 he began studying at the Munich Academy for Television and Film. During his studies he made several films, including in collaboration with Wim Wenders documentation Trick of Light. This film won the award for Best Documentary in Montreal. In 2001, Gall Berger received for " Quiero ser ", a film which deals with the struggle for survival of street children in the capital Mexico City, an Academy Award in the category Best Short Film

In 2004 he directed his first full-length feature film Shadows of Time, which won the Bavarian Film Award for "Best First Feature " and " Best Cinematography ". In addition Shadows of Time was nominated for the 2006 German Film Awards and two successful best film at the International Festival of Love Films in Mons (Belgium ).

2009 received Gallen Berger for the shot in China international film John Rabe, produced by Mischa Hofmann, Benjamin Herrmann and Jan Mojto, nominated for the German Film Award for Best Director, while the movie with the film prize was awarded in gold. Gall Berger worked for almost four years on this film and spent it about 2 years in China.

In December 2011, Gallen Berger was appointed by the University of Television and Film Munich honorary professor.

Gall Berger is a member of the international gifted Association " Mensa".
