Florian Meyer

Florian Meyer ( born November 21, 1968 in Braunschweig ) is a German football referee.

Life

Meyer lives in Burgdorf and since 1996 has been referee of the German Football Association (DFB). Since 1998, he whistles Bundesliga games. His debut celebrated on 16 October 1998 at the TSV 1860 München game against VfL Bochum.

He was nominated for the cup final in 2005.

Since 2002, Meyer is FIFA referee. He is active in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League. In addition, he was requested to numerous games in leagues in the Middle East as an arbitrator and headed matches and qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup and 2010. During the European Football Championship 2012, he was one of two German Torschiedsrichtern.

Meyer is a member of the RSV Braunschweig.

At the end of the 2008/2009 season, he was named by the DFB Referee of the Year. In a survey of the journal kicker among 286 players in the Bundesliga Meyer was elected as the best referee of the first round of the 2010/11 season. Since then, Meyer was named in all of the semi -annual elections among the professionals at the best referee in the Bundesliga.

In September 2013 it was announced that Bastian Dankert and Tobias Stieler be reported in 2014 as a referee for FIFA List. The two replace Meyer and Thorsten Kinhöfer who have to bow to age.

2012 European Football Championship

Meyer took over as " goal-line " at EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine as part of the DFB referee Wolfgang Stark trailer combination to participate.
