Florian Tschögl

Florian Tschögl (* 19th century or 20th century ) was an Austrian Jewish savior who received the honorary title " Righteous Among the Nations " Jerusalem's Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial on September 13, 1979.

Florian Tschögl 1943 served in the Wehrmacht in Moledeczno in Belarus and had to guard the task of Red Army soldiers in a POW camp. Father, mother, two sons and a younger daughter - In this place the family lived Arzichowski. Anti-Semitic Poland denounced before the German command as Jews and said that they rushed against German soldiers.

Tschögl decided to save the family from deportation and certain death and rejected the denunciation. He provided during the years 1943 to 1944, the destitute family and protected them against all attacks. When they wanted to arrest the daughter of the family, Sarah, Tschögl recorded them even to himself.

Only through the help of Florian Tschögls the family Arzichowski could survive the war.
