Florian Wiek

Florian Wiek (born 1972 ) is a German pianist.

He studied with Pierre -Laurent Aimard and Günter Ludwig at the Cologne College of Music and the Paris Conservatoire and with Volker Banfield at the Hamburg Musikhochschule.

In 1999, Wiek a first prize at the Concurs Internacional de Música Maria Canals Barcelona and a prize at the German Music Competition. He has performed with the Berlin Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Hall and the Hamburg Music Hall and performed at numerous festivals.

Since October 2004, Florian Wiek is professor of piano and piano chamber music at the Stuttgart Musikhochule. One focus of his repertoire is the music of Viennese Classicism.
