Floriana F.C.

Floriana Football Club (short: Floriana FC ) is the oldest Maltese football club based in Floriana, the neighboring city of Malta's capital city Valletta.

History

Founded in 1894, the club came through the deployment of Irish units ( the Royal Irish Fusiliers ) to its current tradition colors. By Friendlies of the Association against these troops and thus created connectedness followers also received the nickname " Ta'l - Irish ". Since the establishment of the Malta Football Association in 1900, the club won numerous league and cup successes and participated in all European competitions; 1962 as the first Maltese club at all ( in the Cup competition against Ujpest Dozsa Budapest).

Over the years, played the clubs in competitions against numerous internationally known European clubs.

In recent years dwindled sporting success; so the club had to play himself in the domestic league multiple times in the relegation round against relegation.
