Florida Gulf Coast University
The Florida Gulf Coast University is a state university in Fort Myers in the U.S. state of Florida. It was founded in 1963. Currently, 8,300 students are enrolled.
History
As the newest university in the State University System of Florida, the University was founded in 1991. Due to the siting and construction delays, the first lectures were held only in 1997.
Sports
The sports teams of Florida Gulf Coast University are called the Eagles. The university is a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference.
