Florida Parishes
The Florida Parishes (French Paroisses de Floride ) is a region in Louisiana, consisting of areas of former West Florida. It includes the following Parishes:
- East Baton Rouge Parish
- East Feliciana Parish
- West Feliciana Parish
- Livingston Parish
- St. Helena Parish
- St. Tammany Parish
- Tangipahoa Parish
- Washington Parish
The region had in the census of 2000 a population of 887 444 to 12134.57 square kilometers, resulting in a population density of 73 inhabitants per square kilometer revealed.

In addition to Baton Rouge was the only major city with 227 017 inhabitants ( 2000) there are still some medium-sized cities (population 2000 in brackets):

History
1810, the region was for a short time part of the Republic of West Florida, whose flag called the Bonnie Blue Flag was. Later, the area became part of the Orleans Territory.
