Florida State Road 112

The Florida State Road 112 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Florida, the western section is locally expanded as Airport Expressway known and almost completely highway-like. It leads to a length of about 15 kilometers from Miami to Miami Beach in Miami -Dade County. The eastern section of the highway is also known as Interstate 195. The road is operated by the Miami -Dade Expressway Authority.

Route

The SR 112 begins about 1 km north of the main access to the Miami airport at the point where the U.S. Highway 27 to State Roads 948 and 953 hits. From here, the road crosses first the State Road 9, before taking on a motorway junction on Interstate 95. Here the name of the road ends as Airport Expressway. Further eastward, crossing the road (in addition ) as Interstate 195 U.S. Highway 1, before it via the Julia Tuttle Causeway to Miami Beach. There she meets first onto State Road 907 and then onto State Road A1A, only to end a few meters later at an impasse. Already at the SR 907, approximately 1.5 km before its end, their ends highway-like -developed state.

Toll

For the eastward passing traffic between the section of State Road 9 and Interstate 95 is a toll road. Here, a fee of $ 1.25 ( $ 1.00 with SunPass ) must be paid. The use of the running west roadway is free of charge.

History

The first construction work mentioned on the first 36th Street Tollway Expressway began in 1959. On December 23, the road from Miami Beach SR 948 and SR could to Miami to the junction with U.S. 27, 953 opened to traffic. In 1990, the extension was built to the immediate airport access at the level of NW 21st Street.
