Florin Halagian

Florin Halagian ( born March 7, 1939 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player and coach. He stood in more than 850 games of the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A, on the sidelines.

Career

After he finished his career in 1969 as an active soccer player, Halagian began his career at the beginning of 1972 as the successor of Titus ozone at FC Arges Pitesti. Even after half a year he led the club to the championship in 1972. During the subsequent European Champion Clubs' Cup, he retired with his team in the second round against Real Madrid after the first leg was won 2-1. After a third place 1972/73 he was unable to build in the next few years these successes and slid with the FC Arges from midfield. In the road to success he found back in 1977/ 78 when he was able to win the runner-up behind Steaua Bucharest. A year later, with the championship in 1979, his second title. In May 1979, he was allowed to attend once the Romanian national team in the European Championship qualifier against Cyprus.

In the summer of 1981 Halagian Arges left after almost ten years and took over the league rivals FC Olt Scorniceşti. With his new club, he missed the 1981/82 season just to qualify for the UEFA Cup. In the following two seasons, he placed himself in the midfield. In the summer of 1984, he was the successor of Emerich Jenei head coach of the record champions Steaua Bucharest. In October 1984, he again had to give way to its predecessor. During the winter break 1984/85 League rival FC signed him Universitatea Craiova. He failed to qualify for the UEFA Cup and was replaced by his predecessor Mircea Rădulescu.

After four years Halagian returned in the summer of 1985 back to FC Arges. After eight games Leonte Ianovschi took over from him before he again took over the reins in the winter break 1985/86. He led the club in the upper midfield and knocked in the season 1986/87 on the door to the UEFA Cup, but this missed the behind the teams and Universitatea Craiova Sportul Studenţesc. The 1987/88 season ended on a place in the midfield. Then moved to AS Halagian Victoria Bucharest and took over the Romanian Olympic Team. With Victoria, he qualified for the UEFA Cup in 1989/90, where he lost to FC Valencia with his team in the first round.

After Victoria had been dissolved as a result of the Romanian Revolution during the winter break 1989/90, Halagian remained until the spring of 1991 without a club before him committed Dinamo Bucharest as the successor of Gheorghe Mulţescu. He led the club in the UEFA Cup. A year later, he won the championship in 1992 with his third title. In October 1992, he had to Alexandru Moldovan soft, which he himself succeeded in May 1993. At the end of the season he reached the runner-up behind Steaua Bucharest. After a third place in 1993/94 he left the club and signed up to the league rivals FC Inter Sibiu. The season 1994/95 he graduated to a place in the midfield and left Sibiu again.

End of September 1995 Halagian was the successor of Marian Bondrea head coach at FC Naţional Bucharest. He closed the 1995/96 season as runners-up from behind Steaua Bucharest. He repeated a year later this success. In October 1997, he left the club. Two months later he signed on to the league rivals FCM Bacau, who was standing on the relegation zone. After relegation in 1998, he qualified in the season 1998/99 with his club for the Intertoto Cup, where he was eliminated in the very first round against the Armenian side FC Ararat Yerevan. Thereupon, the club parted from him. End of August 1999 brought him again the FC Arges Pitesti after. During the winter break, he left the club despite a second place to league rivals FC Braşov. This he led the league in the summer of 2000, parted ways again.

In September 2000 Halagian head coach of Piatra Neamţ Ceahlăul. He took over the team in last place and stood before the winter break the connection to the non-relegation places ago, had the winter break but Florin Marin soft. In September 2001, he again undertook the FC Arges, he took second to last place and led to relegation in 2002. At the beginning of the season 2002 /03 the club fell back into the basement table and separated after eight rounds of Halagian.

In the following years Halagian jumped only occasionally for a few games as a coach. Since April 2011 he has been sports director of Gloria Bistrita in the League II
