flow stress

Yield stress describes the required external fitting ( true ) stress for reaching and maintaining the plastic flow in uniaxial a material. The yield stress in a volume decreases with increasing temperature. The yield stress is used in the determination of the deformation resistance, and in the unit Pascal (Pa ) - ie N/m2 - specified.

The yield stress is a function of

  • The strain rate
  • The forming temperature
  • The degree of deformation
  • The hydrostatic pressure
  • Microstructure
  • Of the material.

The parameters influence each other and are dependent on the material in the rule.

Assumptions used in determining the uniaxial yield stress of the stress tensor were formulated for example by Tresca or von Mises.
