Flowering tea

A tea rose or tea flower or tea peony, is a small decorative bunch of selected (young) Teezweigen that is used traditionally in China for making tea at particularly solemn occasions.

Tea roses are tied together by hand with cotton thread to small packages, posy, balls, or chrysanthemum -like shapes. They serve primarily as a gift or as a special attention for guests at festive events. Tea flowers are placed in the teapot, where they can develop their flavor and their shape and color can come into its own.

In Europe there are numerous tea shops tea roses of various teas with different flavors, both of green tea as well as black tea or white tea. They are very similar to using a large tea bag. Such teas are far more expensive compared to the popular tea bags or loose tea.
