The three peaks of the escape Horn of the West

The escape Horn ( rät. Piz Fenga ) is a mountain range in the eastern Silvretta on the border of Austria and Switzerland. The mountain massif of the escape horn is dreigipfelig (southern ( 3,399 m), medium ( 3397 m), Northern Escape Horn ( 3309 m) ), the southern escape horn is the second highest mountain in the Silvretta. In Atlas Tyrolensis 1774 it was named after the Waelsch Alp in the rear Fimbertal as " Wälsche mountain".

The first ascent was made in 1861 by Johann Jakob Weilenmann and Poell, whose ascent route ( " Weilenmann gutter " ) today is the normal route to the summit gives ( Difficulty II, often combined firn rock). Access is from the east ( Heidelberger Hütte ) or west ( Jamtalhütte ) over the Zahnjoch ( 2,947 m ) south of the escape horn.
