The anti-aircraft missiles Squadron 1 ( FlaRakG 1) " Schleswig -Holstein" is an association of the Air Force, with locations in leakage and Husum. The squadron is equipped with anti-aircraft missiles Patriot system, the short-range protection system MANTIS and the Light air defense system ( LeFlaSys ) ocelot.

Since 1 July 2013, the air defense missile squadron 1 is the command task forces subordinated to Air Force in Cologne -Wahn.

History

The anti-aircraft missiles Squadron 1 was established in 1959 as Air Defence Regiment 3 in Essen- Kupferdreh. In the same year the relocation to Bocholt, 1960 in Osnabrück was. In 1965 it was renamed with the introduction of the weapon system in Hawk anti-aircraft missile regiment 3 and moved to Krummenort near Rendsburg. 1967 the association moved to after Heath. There it was reclassified in 1989 for anti-aircraft missile command 1 and 1992 for air defense missile squadron 1. 1994 the squadron moved to its current location. In 2001, the HAWK weapon system was decommissioned.

On 1 January 2011, the squadron officially took over responsibility for the short-range protection system MANTIS, the light air defense system ( LeFlaSys ) ocelot and the air surveillance radar ASR from being liquidated air defense troops of the army. For the operation of these systems by the anti-aircraft missiles Service of the Air Force air defense group was put into service on Husum on March 25, 2011.

The nickname " Schleswig -Holstein", the Association since 1989.

The anti-aircraft missiles Squadron 1 was until 30 June 2013, a federation of the 4th Air Force Division. Since 1 July 2013 the squadron under the direct command task forces Luftwaffe.

The Commodore are subject to the anti-aircraft missiles groups 21 ( Sanitz ), 24 (bath jelly), 26 ( Husum ) and 61 ( Todendorf / Panker ). As part of the reclassification of the air defense missile squadron 1 " Schleswig -Holstein" Major General Robert Lowenstein handed over on 12 April 2013, in command of all remaining anti-aircraft missile units of the Bundeswehr, the Tactical Training and Education Center FlaRakLw USA ( TaktAusbWbZ FlaRakLw USA) El Paso, USA as well as the training center FlaRak to the current Commodore of FlaRakG 1, Colonel Bernd Stöckmann.

Tasks

The mission of the Association is to protect assigned with the weapon system MIM -104 Patriot rooms and objects against the threat posed by aircraft and ballistic missiles. Since the installation of the air defense group is a further object of the Association is to ensure the short-range protection system MANTIS the encampment protect its own troops.
