Fluid inclusions

As dragonfly is known in mineralogy, the gas bubbles occasionally contained in fluid inclusions in minerals. The liquids in the inclusions may be residues of the mother liquor or hydrothermal solution in which the mineral is caused, but also sea water such as in halite or gypsum.

Dragonflies are found mainly in the minerals amethyst, quartz, gypsum and halite.

Minerals with dragonflies are coveted gemstones, but their great sensitivity are processed in polished form for rare.
