Fluke (Band)

Fluke is an English band. Fluke was originally founded in 1988 by Mike Bryant, Mike Tournier, Julian Nugent and Jonathan Fugler. Fluke started with House and then moved on to other genres such as trip hop and big beat.

The band released in 1991 their album Techno Rose of Blighty, international recognition they received, however, only by their third album, Six Wheels on My Wagon included some individually published singles. In addition, they made movie soundtracks, for example, the title of Zion (also known as Slip It or in a new version as Another Kind of Blues on the album Puppy ) from the movie Matrix Reloaded; from Tomb Raider the song Absurd, which was also used for a commercial; or Bullet in the film Face. Also for the anime movie The Animatrix they put some titles. Thank the band has only been known since the game Wipeout 2097, where the song was heard Atom Bomb.

Their album Oto, which was published in 1995, shows the transition of the sound of the band to jazz and trip hop.

After the huge success of the album Risotto, Mike Tournier left to Fluke together with Jan Burton to form the band syntax.

Later, Mike Bryant and Jonathan Fugler founded together with other musicians, the project 2 Bit Pie, playing mainly House. They released two singles and the album 2Pie Islands.
