Flums

Flums is a medium-sized municipality in the constituency Sarganserland in the Swiss canton of St. Gallen. Flums consists of three local churches Flums Village, Grossberg and Kleinberg.

Flums is primarily known for the skiing and hiking area Flumserberg. The latter is also in the municipality of fourths.

Traditions

Carnival

In Flums are two carnival societies, namely the carnival company Flums and the Black Angels Flums.

The Black Angels are a traditional customs group. They consist of the male Butzi which are disguised as devils and the female Chrüterwyber. The head of the Black Angel is the reigning court jester. He is elected in October each of the old court jester as a proposal and suggested to the Cage Opened the carnival people in the basement of Postli.
