Fluorperchlorat can be obtained by the reaction of perchloric acid with fluorine at low temperatures.
Properties
Fluorperchlorat is a colorless, pungent -smelling sour, very explosive gas. It explodes often already during melting, condensing or gas (similar Nitroxyfluorid NO3F ) already in contact with dust, grease or rubber. In the open test tube, the gas explodes on contact with a flame or a spark gap.
Safety
Fluorperchlorat irritates the throat and the lungs. It produces long -lasting respiratory distress.
