Fly is a song by the rapper Nicki Minaj in collaboration with the singer Rihanna. The song was by J. R. Red and Kevin Hissink produced and written by Kevin Hissink, W. Jordan, Onika Maraj, Jonathan Rotem, Clemm Rishad. It appeared on Nicki Minaj's debut album Pink Friday (2010).

Background

The song was produced by JR Rotem, who has already worked before with Britney Spears, Rick Ross and Leona Lewis. In an interview with MTV News Rotem explained that he came to only as a producer, because he has heard a few songs from Minaj's Pink Friday and have noticed how " inspiring" their works are. He explained: " We were almost at the end of their project, I came into the studio and I had a few songs [ for them ]. I was very excited.
