Flydubai, proper spelling flydubai, is a public low-cost airline of Dubai.

Business

Flydubai was supported during the construction phase by the state-run company also Emirates, but operates independently and not part of the Emirates Group. Competitors of Flydubai, the low cost airlines Air Arabia, Sharjah and Jazeera Airways, the latter also operates out of Dubai.

Noteworthy is the start of the airline amid the world economic crisis in 2009, in which the aviation industry recorded a sharp decline. The investment in the low-cost market is likely to reinforce the Emirate of Dubai in the crisis.

Flydubai relies on a transparent pricing to allow easy travel. Therefore contains the fare next to the flight and taxes, fees and 10 kg hand luggage. However, another baggage must be paid separately. Also other services such as meals on board are chargeable.

Destinations

The first routes led in June 2009 from the base in Dubai to Amman and Beirut. In November 2012, the route network included links to Abha, Aleppo, Alexandria, Amman, Ashgabat, Assiut, Bahrain, Baku, Beirut, Belgrade, Colombo, Damascus, Djibouti, Doha, Erbil, Istanbul, Yekaterinburg, Yerevan, Kabul, Karachi, Kathmandu, Khartoum, Kuwait, Latakia, Lucknow, Luxor, Muscat, Mattala, Samara, Skopje and Sulaymaniyah.
