Fløyen

Fløyen or Fløyen Mountain is one of the seven mountains of the Norwegian city of Bergen and the most popular tourist attraction. The plateau is located at an altitude of 399 m, just above the city center.

The name comes from the still existing on the ridge wind vane which should protected from the Bergen harbor, Vågen, sea going vessels show the wind direction.

The photogenic views of the peninsula makes the Fløyen Mountain a popular destination for both tourists and locals. There are also many hiking trails from there across the plateau for Ulrika.

Fløibanen is a 850 meter long electric funicular railway that runs between the two cars Fløyen and the city center with three intermediate stations back and forth.
