FM Belfast

FM Belfast is an Elektro-/Pop-Band from Reykjavík. The group consists of Lóa Hlín Hjálmtýsdóttir, Árni Rúnar Hlöðversson, Árni Vilhjálmsson and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason.

History

The band started in 2005 with only Hjálmtýsdóttir and Hlöðversson. Until Árni Vilhjálmsson and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason were added, however, there were no significant results. In 2006, she appeared at the Iceland Airwaves festival on and so took the step from the studio project to a live band.

The number of members varies from 3 to 8, depending on who can appear. The core of the band make Árni Rúnar Hlöðversson, Árni Vilhjálmsson and Lóa Hlín Hjálmtýsdóttir from. Occasionally take Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, Hermann Pálsson Sveinbjorn, Björn Kristjánsson, Birgitta Birgisdóttir, Eiríkur Orri part in performances.

The first album was recorded in New York and Iceland. Recordings, mixing, and the design of the cover were taken by members of the band itself.
