FMC Corporation is an American chemical company headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The name originally stood for Food Machinery Corporation.

History

The story starts in 1883 when John Bean Spray Pump Company founded the bean to market a he invented reciprocating pump for spraying of insecticides. Specialty Chemicals

FMC Specialty Chemicals consists of the areas of biopolymers, especially for the food and pharmaceutical industries as well as lithium. With a turnover of 914 mil. USD (2012 ) it is the smallest segment of the FMC Corporation.
