Geography and transport
Fockbek is just west of Rendsburg at the discharge averaging the Federal Highway 202 from the state road 203
The fish-shaped Fockbeker Lake (also Armensee ) is located in the municipal area.
History
The place through which led the Ochsenweg was first mentioned as Fokabikre in the " Guldholm certificate " from March 31, 1196. In fact, however Finds from the past, that the place is one of the oldest foundations in the northern eider area. The oldest artifacts that have been found in the Fockbeker hall, come from the Middle Stone Age (8000-3000 BC)

Education
In Fockbek there is a primary and secondary school and a secondary school. Approximately 1100 students from 13 surrounding communities are schooled here. De Aalversupers
Fockbeks Sage is about the Aalversupen ( Low German for eel - drowning or drowning eel ). According to the tale, the villagers wanted to breed Fockbeker lake herring, for which they poured purchased on the market Rendsburger salt herring in the lake. When they desisted in the following year the seawater to reap the fruits of their efforts, they found not a single herring more, but only one eel, lolled in the mud. The Fockbeker concluded this eel had devoured all the pegs. This mockery history is said to have been invented by the inhabitants of the neighboring town of Rendsburg and should reflect the simplicity of the inhabitants of the western neighboring village. Ultimately, disputes over fishing rights were the cause.
