Fockbek (Danish: Fokbæk ) is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein.

Geography and transport

Fockbek is just west of Rendsburg at the discharge averaging the Federal Highway 202 from the state road 203

The fish-shaped Fockbeker Lake (also Armensee ) is located in the municipal area.

History

The place through which led the Ochsenweg was first mentioned as Fokabikre in the " Guldholm certificate " from March 31, 1196. Education

In Fockbek there is a primary and secondary school and a secondary school. Approximately 1100 students from 13 surrounding communities are schooled here. De Aalversupers

Fockbeks Sage is about the Aalversupen ( Low German for eel - drowning or drowning eel ). According to the tale, the villagers wanted to breed Fockbeker lake herring, for which they poured purchased on the market Rendsburger salt herring in the lake.
