Focke-Achgelis Fa 225

The Focke- Achgelis Fa 225 was a German towed gyroplane manufacturer Focke- Achgelis.

History

Contrary to the personal attitude of Henrich Focke a drag - gyroplane was considered extremely promising and assign an appropriate development order to Focke- Achgelis from the Ministry of Aviation. The design and construction required only seven weeks. The Fa 225 was first dragged on September 27, 1941 by a Junkers Ju 52/3m. However, it proved virtually no good, which is why the development was discontinued.

Construction

Henrich Focke sat on the normal hull of a DFS 230 glider load. On these a rotor of a Fa 223 was set. Was defined by the rotor axis until at the hull, and ended in a rope drum. Here a rope was wound, the end was anchored before the start at the bottom. When tightening the pattern by the tow plane as an initial tour number was reached, then increased by the wind to the required speed for take off.
