Fodé Mansaré

Fode Mansaré ( born September 3, 1981 in Conakry ) is a Guinean football player and currently active as a left winger in the French Ligue 1 for FC Toulouse as well as in the Guinean national team.

Club career

At the age of 15 years Mansaré came from Guinea to France to play at Gazelec FCO Ajaccio in Corsica in the youth department. In 1999 he moved to Montpellier and moved in 2001 to the first team. He made his debut in Ligue 1 on July 28, 2001 in the match against Olympique Marseille. He came in to replace it in the 63rd minute for Rui Pataca, the game ended 1-1. From the 13th matchday of the season succeeded the young players to secure a place in the starting eleven and he played a total of 28 league games in his first season, 21 of them from the start.

Also in the following years included the winger to the players regularly used. In the 2003 /04 season he Montpellier with the sporty low point, when the club was relegated to Ligue 2. Mansaré remained in the first second division season at Montpellier and could achieve five goals in 34 games. With Toulouse, he scored the third place in the championship of the 2006/07 season, the best result in the club's history. In the following season they failed significantly in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League at the English side FC Liverpool ( 0-5 on aggregate ). Also in the UEFA Cup 2007/08 was not much better, after two arduous games against the Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia qualified one for the group stage, in which one was eliminated with only three points from four games as a group last.

National team career

Mansaré is one of the key players of the Guinean national team. Since its debut in 2001, he completed at least 25 matches for Syli Nationale. He was at the African Cup of Nations in 2004 and 2006 in the squad Guinea and reached both times with the team the quarter-finals, where they each just failed (1:2 or 2:3 against Mali to Senegal). Also for the African Nations Cup in Ghana in 2008, he was nominated and failed there for the third time in a row with the country's selection of Guinea in the quarterfinals.
