Fodéba Keïta

Fodeba Keïta ( born January 19, 1921 in Siguiri, † May 27, 1969 at Camp Boiro ) was a Guinean writer, playwright, composer and politician.

In 1948, Fodeba Keita during his law studies in Paris, the band Sud Jazz, after his return to Guinea, he called 1950, Les Ballets africains to life and published the poetry collection Poèmes africains as well as the novel Le Maître d' école ( 1952).

Politically active in the RDA, Fodeba Keita worked from 1956 closely with Ahmed Sékou Touré. In 1961 Fodeba Keita was appointed Defence and Security Minister, he uncovered alleged plots against Sékou Touré and real on before he became the focus of investigations itself in 1969. Imprisoned in the notorious Camp Boiro, he was subjected to torture - shot without trial and on 27 May 1969 ( " diète noire " complete food and fluid deprivation ).

Fodeba Keïta composed the music of the first French anti-colonial film Afrique50 filmmaker René Vautier Breton.
