Folco Lulli

Folco Lulli ( born July 3, 1912 in Florence, † May 24, 1970 in Rome ) was an Italian actor.

Life

Lulli, whose younger brother Piero was also an actor, came after a career as a footballer relatively late to film. He had the greatest success in The Wages of Fear. His later films had no longer that important. Between the end of the Second World War and the late 1960s, he was an institution of the Italian cinema, but also filmed in other European countries. After his debut in Alberto Lattuada's Il bandito he was of moderate, uncouth stature and with expressive, wide facial, also engaged as an unusual protagonist, but was often on tangible characters, often set on villain roles. For his performance in The whip in the neck in 1964 he received a David di Donatello. In addition to a documentary he was active as a director of a movie once.
