FOLFIRI

The FOLFIRI regimen is a therapeutic regimen for adjuvant chemotherapy of colorectal carcinoma with the active ingredients:

• FOL - folinic acid ( leucovorin )
• F - fluorouracil (5- FU)
• IRI - irinotecan

The therapy is usually performed every 14 days in twelve cycles according to the following scheme:

(mg / m = amount / body surface area / day)

There are many variations of this treatment ( for instance with weekly doses, and correspondingly lower doses).

Since it can get through the application to nausea, an antiemetic from the group of 5 -HT3 receptor inhibitors and dexamethasone should always be given.
