Fomitiporia is a fungal genus of the family of bristle Scheiblingkirchen relatives of the fire sponges ( Phellinus ) was separated.

The type species is Fomitiporia langloisii.

Features

Macroscopic characteristics

The hymenophore of wood dweller is flat on the substrate fitting, perennial, inseparable and stiff. The thin context is brown. The layered tubes are also brown, thick-walled and usually entire.

Microscopic characteristics

The roundish to elliptical spores are smooth and colorless. The hyphae have a brown color usually. Cystidia are sometimes present.
