Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain

The Fondation Cartier pour l' Art Contemporain is a museum of contemporary art in the 14th arrondissement of Paris.

The Foundation was established in 1984 as a center for contemporary creation of the company Cartier. The target is specified to present exhibitions of established artists as well as an opportunity to debut to offer young artists and to take over their work in the collection. 1994 pulled the Foundation to its current location in a building that was designed by the architect Jean Nouvel and the one designed by Lothar Baumgarten garden belongs.

The museum presents exhibitions of contemporary international artists and includes more than 1,000 works by 300 artists. The collection includes monumental works such as The Monument to Language by James Lee Byars, Caterpillar by Wim Delvoye, Backyard by Liza Lou, La Volière by Jean -Pierre Raynaud, and Everything That Rises Must Converge by Sarah Sze.
