Fontainebrux

Fontainebrux is a commune with 181 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Jura department in the Franche -Comté. It belongs administratively to the district of Lons -le -Saunier and the Canton Bletterans and is a member of the Association of Municipalities Bresse Revremont.

Geography

The municipality is in the nature Bresse region, approximately 17 kilometers northeast of Louhans and 10 kilometers west of Lons- le -Saunier, on the border with the department of Saône -et -Loire in the neighboring region of Burgundy. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • Villevieux in the north,
  • Larnaud in the east,
  • Courlans in the southeast,
  • Courlaoux in the south,
  • Les Repôts in the southwest,
  • Saillenard in the West ( Dep. Saône- et- Loire) and
  • Bletterans in the northwest.

In the western part of the municipality is the municipal seat, which extends as a linear village along the road D 137 department. Just south of the village center, within the district, there is a small lake called Etang de Fontainebrux. Two other lakes are located in the eastern, predominantly forested part of the municipality: the Etang de la Romette and the Etang of Tartres. The area is mainly drained by the stream Ruisseau de la Serenne, which tends towards the northwest of the seille.

Transport links

The community is accessible in principle solely by the Department road D137. In the far east of the municipality is crossed by the A39 motorway, the nearest entrance and exit ramps but are in Beaurepaire -en- Bresse. The nearest airfield Aerodrome Lons -le- Saunier Courlaoux is just a few kilometers to the southeast.
