Fontana del Moro

The Fontana del Moro (German Mohrenbrunnen ) is the southernmost of the three fountains in the Piazza Navona. It was built by Giacomo della Porta and 1574-1576 shows four Tritons and other figures.

In 1654 the fountain was revised in order Olimpia Maidalchini by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the central statue " il Moro ", a man of Ethiopia was fighting, added with a dolphin. The original statues are located in the park of Villa Borghese in Rome.

On September 3, 2011 one of the statues was damaged by vandalism, but already repaired until 16 December 2011.
