Fontanella, Austria

Fontanella is a municipality in the district of Bludenz in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg with 428 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2013 ).

The community is on average 1145 m above sea level. A. in the northernmost part of the Great Walser Valley.

Geography

Fontanella is the highest mountain village of " Biosphere reserves the Great Walser Valley ". 29.5 % of the area is forested, 52.1 % of the area Alps. Due to its location on the northeast end of the Great Walser Valley, the Bregenzerwald village Damuels can be reached via the Faschinajoch.

Quarters are: Garlitt, Mittelberg, door sealed, Kirchberg, Seewald and Faschina.

History

The site was inhabited in the 14th century by colonists Valais, which came about Grisons - laterns - Damuels in this space and belonged to the Walser court Damuels. Was first documented in 1363 as Fontanella " Funtanell ". The place name derives from a Roman word, the diminutive of " fontana " ( = well, spring ). He was taken from an ancient healing spring in this area. The place came together in 1390 with the reign of Feldkirch Austria.

The Habsburgs ruled the areas in Vorarlberg changing of Tyrol and Further Austria from ( Freiburg im Breisgau). From 1805 to 1814, the town belonged to Bavaria, then back to Austria. For the Austrian state of Vorarlberg Fontanella heard since the establishment in 1861.

The place was from 1945 to 1955 part of the French zone of occupation in Austria.

The proportion of foreigners at the end of 2002 at 5.7 percent.

Policy

The municipal council consists of 9 members. After the 2010 election, the ÖVP could ask the mayor in Fontanella all 9 mandatories and with Werner Konzett.

The municipality revenue from taxes and other charges in 2001 were at € 578,861, the municipal expenditure at € 2,605,569. The debt was 2001 1.990.751 €.

Economy and infrastructure

At the site there were in 2003 18 companies in the industrial sector with 102 employees and six apprentices. Taxable wage -employed, there were 180 tourism and tourism are important. In the tourism year 2001/2002 there were a total of 70 365 nights.

In Fontanella there is a kindergarten. At the site there are (as of January 2003 ) 29 students.

Regular events

  • Oberg Right Isamännli ( triathlon): Every year starts in July in Fontanella at Seewaldsee the ' Oberg Right Isamännli ' - a triathlon sporting event. After a swim in the lake round course it's all about a running track to the village center of Fontanella and then with the bike after Faschina the finish.
