Fontanellato

Fontanellato is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7038 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Parma, in Lombardy. The community is located about 16 kilometers northwest of Parma and about 9 km east-northeast of Fidenza.

History

The origins of the church are in the dark. 1124 the fortification of Fontanellato is built. Importance gained the place by its Marian shrine that dates back to the year 1512.

Traffic

Through the village leads the Autostrada A1 from Milan coming towards Bologna. The southern boundary of the parish is the Strada Statale 9 Emilia ( Via Emilia).
