Foobar2000

Development

The player will be further developed at irregular intervals since the first version in 2002. The official forum is not only desired new features and feedback on the latest beta versions will be discussed, but collected.

During the program core is closed source, the author offers quite an extensive SDK under the rules of a BSD license, which contains the source code of most components.

Functions

In the standard, the player has a simple user interface with lots of customization options and features, including the metadata display and editing, a support for a high-quality audio output (eg, 24 -bit, 96 -kHz output; dithering, noise shaping ), and a number of plugins for various tasks. It also integrates simple visualizations, eg for waveform, pitch or frequency domain analysis.
