Action

A man walks into a room, sits down, and sweeps the remains of the Last Supper from the table. Across from him sits another man carrying a paper with writing on a chain around the neck. The first man gets up and follows the instructions on the note. He stuffs money into the throat of the man and pokes in his eye. The second man's shirt opens by itself and a dumbwaiter comes to light there where actually the chest of the man should have been. The first man takes his food and hits the other chin.

When he has finished eating, he joined the others in the shins to get a napkin. After he wiped his mouth, he is plagued by cramps. He limps, and now the other man regains consciousness. He stretches and puts the note on the table. He stands up and makes a mark on the wall. A new man enters the room and the procedure is repeated.

Lunch

Two men, a businessman and a vagabond, sit in the restaurant and are ignored by the waiter. You start everything possible to eat in the area: The flowers on the table, her shoes, pants, shirts, underwear, dishes, the tablecloth, the table and the chairs. The Vagabond observed to the businessman and eats what he eats. When no more food there is, the businessman begins to eat his cutlery - the tramp makes it for him. The businessman laughs and pulls out his own cutlery back out of his mouth. As the businessman goes with knife and fork go on the tramp.

Dinner

The film shows a surreal restaurant where diners eat the parts of yourself. A rich man refined his creation with many sauces and spices - his plate is not visible from sheer spices. He rammed a fork in a wooden hand. Shortly after, he begins to eat his own hand. Next door eats an athlete his lower leg, a woman can taste her breasts and a man eats his genitals.

Criticism

A film review of the New York Times describes the film as " witty with biting tone ," but thinks the same time, the film is "weak". The reason for this is believed that it " must have been too risky for Svankmajer in the 1970s, a [ deeper ] political allegory accommodate in the film ." So the film was " too easy in his statement about how people of mechanistic States and himself be devoured. " A movie review of 3sat film critics commented on the film: " [ ... ] January Svankmajer [ designs ], but in the small eating ' a dark allegory of eating and being eaten and the impact of political systems on the individual.
