Food Not Bombs

Food Not Bombs (FNB ) is an international movement that emerged in 1980 in Boston, USA. FNB groups worldwide collect food from markets and producers that is no longer suitable for sale. This vegetarian and vegan food is prepared in the rule, which is distributed to public places to passers-by, the homeless, tourists etc..

The goal is not to be an alternative feeding the poor, but by simply more tangible contexts ( here destruction of useful food while hunger in the world and locally) to question the capitalist value principle.

Currently still active founders Keith McHenry ( * 1957 in Frankfurt am Main ) and C. T. Butler, who are authors of the book " Food Not Bombs " at the same time.

Emancipated from the core idea to practice various FNB groups world's other actions, analysis and applications. In Germany, there are currently active groups in Cologne, Dusseldorf, Monchengladbach and Bonn. In Austria, there are groups in Vienna and Graz.
