Foomatic

Foomatic is a configurable printing system that simplifies the use of printers on Linux. Here, a configuration is created on PPD files which allows the spooler to transfer the data optimally to the printer. The package does this with most printers using Ghostscript as the print processor.

Currently, the working group of OpenPrinting the Linux Foundation to further develop care.
