Football Association of Finland

Suomen Palloliitto is the Finnish Football Association.

The Football Association of Finland was founded in 1907. A year later they joined FIFA. In 1954, belonged to the Finnish Association of the founding members of UEFA. The Finnish national football team has yet been able to qualify for any European or World. The biggest success so far was the fourth place at the Summer Olympics in 1912. The women's team came at the 2005 European Championships in their first participation to the semifinals.

The association takes care of the organization of the First Division, the Finnish football professional league and the highest level of female league SM- Sarja. Furthermore, the association organizes the games of national teams and junior national teams. Since 1953, the Association elects also the Player of the Year in Finland.

By 1972, Suomen Palloliitto was also responsible for the Bandysport in Finland before the Suomen Jääpalloliitto was founded as a Finnish Bandyverband on 18 March 1972.
