Footloose (song)

Footloose is a song by Kenny Loggins from the soundtrack of the movie Footloose from the year 1984. The song spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The music video shows several scenes from the film, especially shots from the camp, where Kevin Bacon's character lists a dance number.

The song was nominated for an Oscar in the category Music (Original Song), but lost to Stevie Wonder I Just Called to Say I Love You. On July 13, 1985 Kenny Loggins Footloose sang at the concert Live Aid in Philadelphia.

In the episode full the mystery of the television series South Park, in the episode Four little words of American Dad and the episode when testing anything new from The Simpsons you could hear the song. The song has been covered among others by Weird Al Yankovic, Jive Bunny & the Mastermixers and Party Animals.
