For an Angel

For an Angel is a song by the German DJ and music producer Paul van Dyk in the field of trance. For an Angel is one of the most well-known title of the scene and was especially in England, but also in Germany a great success and was there several weeks each the # 1 dance charts. The track helped Paul van Dyk international breakthrough. The song first appeared in 1994 on the album 45 RPM on the Berlin label MFS. For an Angel appeared in 1998 as a single with new remixes. For an Angel 2009 was published in 2009.

As part of the Music Discovery Project 2009, a classic interpretation of For an Angel was listed together with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra and Paavo Järvi among others.

Paul van Dyk wrote the song when he met his girlfriend. The vocals were sung by Ute Lampka - Konrad. On the artwork of the Maxi - CDs and records from 1998 and 2009, the Berlin Victory Column is seen.

The versions from 1998 are sometimes referred to as For an Angel '98. Paul van Dyk plays since 2007, a Breaks mix in which the 4/4-Beat was replaced by a break beat. This version was, however, not yet published. Furthermore, mashups with other songs (including Silence by Delerium ) have been released on vinyl, but these are only unofficial releases.
