Forbidden passage is an American short film from the year 1941. It was produced and directed by Fred Zinnemann in the film series Crime Does Not Pay in black and white. The U.S. premiere took place on February 8, 1941.

Action

The film talks about illegal immigration. There are shown the dangers of illegal border crossings and financial exploitation by traffickers.

Background

The film was produced as in the series Crime Does Not Pay. The series presented various crimes or offenses, their enlightenment and the subsequent punishment of perpetrators dar. Metro -Goldwyn -Mayer produced 1935-1947 about 50 episodes. The production of the series was a result of the massive criticism of various groups in the violence and crime glorifying Hollywood films of the 1920s and 1930s.
