Ford Consul

Ford Consul was the model name of an average vehicle of the British Ford plant in the 1950s and a European Ford upper-middle- class early 70s.

Consul I (1950-1956)

The British Ford -Werke in 1950 presented a new medium-sized car. He was the first European Ford ³ a modern pontoon body and a newly designed engine with 1500 cc and 48 hp ( 36 kW). Consul II (1956-1962)

The Consul was the successor of the German 17M and the English Zephyr 4, the successor to the German Ford Granada 20M or 26M and the English 6-cylinder vehicles Zephyr 6 and Zodiac. The term Consul for the simple -equipped model was new in Germany. The more luxurious versions also received the new model designation Granada.

In March 1975, the Consul name was abandoned during a cleanup and type the name of Granada used on all models of the upper middle class.
