Ford EcoSport
The Ford EcoSport is a mini SUV produced since 2003 by Ford in Brazil and one of the bestsellers of Ford in Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. Ford offers the second generation model since early 2014 in Europe.

Ford EcoSport (2003-2007)
The first generation Ford EcoSport based on the European Ford Fusion. It was available with four different four-cylinder engines:
All models come standard with front-wheel drive and a manual gearbox. The Zweriliter engine is also available with four-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. With this, the driver can via an electronically controlled system of the instrument panel from the rear-wheel drive switch.
Since its launch, the EcoSport sold well and appeared regularly on the list of the ten best-selling vehicles in Brazil. In total, more than 700,000 vehicles were sold in South and Central America from 2003 to 2012.
End of 2007, the EcoSport has been revised, with essentially the front of the vehicle has been upgraded and so the Ford pickups and the Brazilian Fiesta looked similar. Taillights and interior were also changed.
Second generation models
Ford EcoSport (since 2012)
The second-generation EcoSport is based on the platform of the seventh generation model of the Ford Fiesta and was presented in January 2012 at the New Delhi Auto Expo. It is produced along with Brazil and India. The entire development of the model took place at Vercarmodel Saro in Orbassano.
On February 25th 2013 Ford unveiled the European version of the new EcoSport at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This version is powered by the same 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine, which is also available already in the Ford Focus and the Ford B -MAX. In addition, a 1.5 -liter gasoline engine with 82 kW (112 hp) and a 1.5 - liter diesel engine with 66 kW (90 hp) are available. As standard, the vehicle has ABS, ESP and a hill-start assistant.
Since the beginning of 2014, the EcoSport is also available in Europe.
